EXAMPLES

Example 1: Football Point Spreads
(works for Basketball exactly the same way)

ComboBet is played with a minimum of two games. In a Point Spread example, the player chooses one team from each game.

Games and Spreads:
New York -7 Chicago
Detroit -4.5 Oakland

In this example, we will place a 2-team ComboBet. Using the two games above, the player chooses New York and Oakland (any combination, with one team per game, is possible). Since New York is a 7 point favorite, and Oakland is a 4.5 point underdog, the ComboSpread, the combined point spread, is now:

New York/Oakland -2.5 Chicago/Detroit

The ComboBet wager is the combined New York AND Oakland score versus the combined Chicago AND Detroit score.

The actual game scores are:

New York 28 Chicago 14
Detroit 17 Oakland 10

The ComboBet results are:

NY/Oakland 38
Detroit/Chicago 31

The ComboBet of NY/Oakland would cover the ComboSpread of -2.5 points, since combined they won by 7 points. (And it's a winner, despite the fact that Oakland did not cover the point spread in its game.)
The ComboBet of Detroit/Chicago, would have lost.

Example 2: Football Over/Unders
(works for Basketball exactly the same way)

With ComboBet, you also use the Totals to define a wager.

Games and Totals
Miami - New England 44
Cleveland - Buffalo 39
Atlanta - Minnesota 41
New York - San Diego 48

In this case, a player can choose to pick the Overs or the Unders. And our player in this case only wants a 3 game ComboBet and selects only the first 3 games listed. The ComboBet Over/Under is now 124 points (44+39+41).

So, let's suppose the player takes the Over.

The actual game scores are as follows:

Miami 22 New England 13
Cleveland 20 Buffalo 23
Atlanta 7 Minnesota 17

The total of actual points scored is 102.
The ComboBet Total was 124.
The player choosing Over would have lost his ComboBet.
The player choosing Under would have won his ComboBet. (And, note that one of the three games actually resulted in an Over, but the other two were Under.)

Example 3: Determining Spreads Using ComboBet

Sample Games:
New York -10 Chicago
Kansas City -6 Seattle
Buffalo -4 Miami
San Diego -3 Jacksonville

There are many possible ComboBets that can be made using the games above.

Some examples are:
A 2 game ComboBet NY/Seattle -4
A 3 game ComboBet Chicago/Kansas City
San Diego +1
A 4 game ComboBet Chicago/Seattle/Miami/Jacksonville +23

The player can choose from a minimum of 2 games to as many games as are posted (unless a limited number of games is imposed by the house).
